Neal and Julie were married at Lake of the Isle Lutheran Church with their reception at The Calhoun Beach Club on a day that was filled with great friends and family.  I had the pleasure of meeting Julie and Neal at Julie’s brother’s wedding at Cragun’s Legacy in 2006 and can’t say enough good things about both families and all of their friends.

We almost didn’t shoot Justin and Nikki’s engagement images as rain was in the forecast and they had to drive all the way down from Fargo/Moorhead to shoot their session.  Luckily, Justin had a hunch that the rain wasn’t going to come, so they made the trek anyhow and it paid off. Better yet, none of us ended up wet.

Justin and Nikki, it was great to meet you guys and thank you.

When I think of the North Shore, I think of the forest, the state parks and waterfalls, and the rocky shoreline. So that’s where Bianca, Ken and I went in a wedding dress, a tux and a North Face Jacket.

We started with the forest and in late September it had wonderful color. Granted, we had to head up the mountain 20-30 minutes to find the early fall colors of Minnesota’s North Shore, but it was worth the drive.

Bianca and I both loved her shoes so….

Next, state parks and waterfalls…

Finally, the shore.  We didn’t spend a lot of time there as it was COLD and WINDY!
