Hey there, I’m Tim, I’m a wedding photographer based in Brainerd, MN. I specialize in shooting weddings, which actually means I only shoot weddings. I’m madly in love with my awesome wife Jill and father to Grace and Lauren and I’d like to introduce you to my third child whose name is timlarsenphoto-blog.com, but we like to call him TimBo for short. TimBo need constant feeding (posts), cleaning (spam comments) and attention (your visits and comments). He likes family time (pics of my family), story time (my rants), craft time (my book-making) but his favorite thing is show-and-tell (my images from every session I shoot). But most importantly TimBo want to be your friend, so please come back soon.

Quentin and Anisa: Married - Marshall, MN

“Always toward absent lovers love’s tide stronger flows.”   - Sextus Propertius

I’ve been thinking of a way to say it that sounds smart, but I give up so I’ll just say it plain.  I am a huge fan of Anisa and Quentin and their families.  Quentin, his father and all of his family have either served in Iraq, many of them at the same time, or are going to serve again in Iraq, and again many of them at the same time.   How can you thank somebody for doing that for us?  How do you thank their loved ones?  There’s is not a way that is sufficient, but I’ll say it anyway.  Thank you.

You may recall Quentin and Anisa’s E-Session from this summer.

My day started with the ladies at Urban Appeal Salon in Marshall, MN.

While the ladies were getting all done up at the salon, the guys were out hunting and it was COLD!

It is so true about Christmas being so materialistic. We need to focus on the reason for Christmas. You are doing great work, Tim. Mary JO

Jesse and Erin: After-Shoot - Lower Downtown, St. Paul

12.05.08 After-Shoot

Erin and Jesse’s wedding day was simply beautiful both in the people and in the weather, but when we go together the following afternoon, the people were still beautiful, but the weather…   not so much.  We had cold, wet, snow then sleet, then rain, then wind and various other combinations.  The weather was grungy so I embraced it, the grunge that is not the weather, as we were all still cold and wet.

Jesse and Erin are HUGE (especially Jesse) Minnesota Wild fans and we were too close to the X-Cel to not stop.

Jesse and Erin… thanks for getting cold, wet and dirty for me.

  1. Erin wrote:

Very impressive Tim…I think you accomplished embracing the dirt and you made it beautiful! We could not be more pleased about how everything from the Engagement session to the Wedding to the After-Shoot turned out. You are one talented man and an amazing person to work with! Thanks for everything.

I’ve been planning to get out of the wedding part (mainly ceremony and reception) of photography for 2010 but I love the couple’s shoot on that day and I couldn’t figure out how to have my way. I totally love how you do after-shoots! I think that is so brilliant! So, do you do any “formals” on the wedding day then? Just curious. I’m definitely bookmarking your blog.
